Many people, regardless of religion or ethnicity, are drawn to the Middle East because of the dramatic shifts taking place there. The use of social media, education, and entertainment are helping to unite disparate communities. Is it possible to use comedy, which is traditionally seen as “light” entertainment, as a diplomatic tool?
After launching a series of multicultural and multifaith comedy shows in the Los Angeles area in December 2010, PlanetPix Media & Entertainment Group is raising the stakes once more. According to a recent press release, ‘FUNATICAL: Taking Comedy to the Extreme’s “We Come in Peace” Tour’ will make stops in the Washington, D.C., area on Thursday, April 14, 2011 (7:30 p.m.) at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse in Arlington, VA and Saturday, April 16, 2011 (8 p.m).
