The Desi Comedy Tour, founded by Bay Area artists Samson Koletkar (dubbed “the world’s only Indian Jewish standup comedian”) and Abhay Nadkarni in 2014, featured 11 South Asian performers and four concerts. However, the concept took off. This year’s program, which begins tonight at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco and runs through August 21, will feature 50 comedians from nine nations and will make stops in San Jose, Livermore, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz, among other cities.
