By naming itself ‘Hitler,’ an Indian business has sparked an uproar. The Jewish community in Ahmedabad, where the men’s clothes store is located, is requesting that the name be altered, claiming that the proprietors are not unaware of Hitler’s history. Meanwhile, the shop’s owners claim that it was named after one of their grandfathers, who was known as Hitler because of his severe attitude. Rajesh Shah, the shop’s owner, claims he was unaware of the Nazi leader’s past and that if he is reimbursed, he will change the shop’s name. It isn’t the first time Hitler’s name has been economically used in India. Last year, a scandal erupted over the Indian soap opera “Hitler Didi,” which translates as Aunty Hitler, about a severe aunty.
