Om Shalom Trio: a Convergence of Indian and Jewish Music on a New Silk Road

This week on the Right Brain Music Podcast, we meet the Om Shalom Trio, a group of musicians who blend Indian, Jewish, and classical music traditions so well that you won’t even know they were ever apart. This is our first joint project with The World Fusion Show, a popular show on community access TV that many people watch.

Meet Om Shalom

As a group, we tend to think of different cultures in fixed, absolute ways. It’s not that way in the world. They move and change all the time, with influences from inside and outside. Is this more true than in the world of music, which changes so quickly? Om Shalom is a great example of how things can change right in front of our eyes. It’s made up of people from different backgrounds, thoughtful collaboration, a spirit of open-mindedness, and great musicians.
