As the United Nations honored International Holocaust Remembrance Day, poignant stories of Jews seeking safety in India during the horrors of the Holocaust were told.

On January 27, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day honors the horror of the Holocaust, which occurred during World War II. It commemorates the Holocaust, which claimed the lives of around 6 million Jews.

On Monday, India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations co-hosted a special event titled “India: A Distant Haven During the Holocaust” with B’nai B’rith International in New York, as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed concern that centuries-old hatred is “not only still strong,” but also “getting worse.”
