According to a senior Indian diplomat, the 85,000-strong Indian Jewish community in Israel is a critical link between the two countries, which have seen a remarkable expansion in relations over the years across a broad range of issues.

Muanpuii Saiawi, Counsellor at the Indian embassy in Tel Aviv, spoke at the introduction of a book titled “The Synagogues of India,” whose first copy of a limited edition was delivered to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Israel in 2017.

“The 85,000-strong Indian Jewish community in this city serves as a critical link between India and Israel. With nearly 25 years of complete diplomatic relations, both countries maintain strong relations. Relations have accelerated in a variety of fields, and the future goal of the collaboration is a strong hi-tech relationship befitting two knowledge economies “At the meeting, which was attended by hundreds of Indian Jews, Saiawi remarked.
