Temple Solel Hosts Out-of-the-Ordinary Jewish Comedians

As part of its annual fundraising event commemorating the Temple’s 53rd anniversary, Temple Solel in Bowie will feature an unconventional (literally and figuratively) Jewish comedy act on March 25.

The act, “You’re Funny, But You Don’t Look Jewish,” is performed by a group of four Jews who, on the surface, do not appear to be Jewish. The band is approaching 40 performances and has virtually sold out all of them.

Michael Capozzola, an Italian Jew, is the show’s producer and host. Gina Gold, an African-American Jew; Samson Koletkar, an Indian Jew; and Joe Nyugen, a Jew of Vietnamese descent, are with him. Capozzola, 47, had previously performed with Koletkar and Nyugen, but it was after seeing Gold perform that the act as it is now coming together.
